Pierre Thomas & Partners, one of the leading practices in European Insurance and Personal Injury Litigation, has particularly strong connections in France.
Set up in 1992 we receive instructions from UK and European insurers, travel insurers and legal expenses insurers for accident and insurance litigation in the various UK jurisdictions and indeed the rest of the world.
Our primary areas of activity include defending and pursuing personal injury actions which arise from accidents abroad, including catastrophic injuries. Such accidents usually involve unique circumstances and frequently involve complex issues of private international law - specifically, choice of jurisdiction, application of laws and quantification of damages. This must sometimes be in accordance with the law of a country in which the victim is perhaps not resident, which presents particular complexities in serious cases and is not simple to resolve.
All our fee earning staff are fluent in French and amongst our fee earners Spanish, German and Polish are also spoken. We have associated offices in Paris and Brussels and a world-wide network of correspondents
Through our existing client-base we understand the needs and pressures on travel insurers and legal expenses insurers and can provide a specialist, up to date service based on in-depth experience and a proven track record.
